Rehabilitation & Posture Correction
Evidence-based exercise prescription and ergonomic guidance to help your adjustments hold longer and restore functional movement.
Breaking the Cycle of Recurrent Pain
A common frustration among chiropractic patients is experiencing immediate relief after an adjustment, only to have the exact same pain return a few days later. Why does this happen? Because while an adjustment restores proper joint motion, your muscles are what stabilize and hold that joint in place.
If your daily habits involve sitting at a desk for 8 hours, your postural muscles become weak and imbalanced. These weakened muscles will inevitably pull your spine right back out of alignment.
At Silky Oak Chiropractic, we do not want you to become dependent on our clinic. By integrating customized rehabilitation directly into your care plan, our goal is to empower your body to maintain its own structural stability.
Additional Qualification in Rehabilitation
Our clinical objective is to bridge the gap between passive symptom relief (adjustments) and active functional recovery (strength and stability).
We provide ethical, transparent healthcare aimed at making you self-sufficient, rather than relying on endless, high-pressure care contracts.
Advanced Academic Qualifications
To ensure our patients receive the highest standard of modern, evidence-based care, Dr. Jan Jones recently completed a Bachelor of Rehabilitation Sciences (BRehabSc) at Griffith University (2025), building upon his Master’s Degree in Chiropractic. This additional qualification provides him with advanced, contemporary training in how the human body recovers, heals, and adapts to load. It ensures that the exercises you receive at our clinic are not generic printouts, but highly scientific, tailored biomechanical interventions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need exercises if I'm getting adjusted?
Chiropractic adjustments effectively restore proper motion to restricted joints, but your muscles are what hold those joints in place. If your postural muscles remain weak, they will eventually pull the joint back out of alignment. Rehabilitation ensures your adjustments hold long-term.
Do you just hand out generic exercise sheets?
Absolutely not. Drawing on his advanced degree in Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr. Jan Jones customizes every exercise program based on your specific biomechanical assessment, injury history, and functional goals. You receive exercises tailored exactly to your body's deficits.
Is rehabilitation included in my normal appointment?
Yes. This is why we refuse to offer 5-minute appointments. Our extended standard consultations provide ample time to not only adjust your spine and perform soft tissue therapy, but also to instruct, observe, and refine your rehabilitative exercises.
